    Glasshouse mtn - Little/Big Red

    Hi guys,

I have seen a lot of 4x4 groups commenting on tackling the little red and the big red climbs at glasshouse mountains. Tried searching you tube for any videos of land rovers but couldn't find any.

Has anyone done the little/big red in a land rover. specially in a disco 3. Pretty confident that one of the Steve's would have accomplished it.

P.S: If not, maybe we can organise a day trip to the glass house mtns. Again.

    Cheers
    Shiva

Little/Big Red are pretty tough tracks, I wouldn't be attempting them without rock sliders/bar work.

There are plenty of videos showing big lifted and locked Patrols on 35 inch tyres, struggling to get up Big Red. Little Red is easier, I'll start with that one first. Be prepared for panel damage.

I have always found that the wheel slip control in rock crawl mode has been enough to get me out of rough stuff.

New to Brisbane and have not been to the Glass House Mountains so I may be speaking out of turn but looking at the videos (which can be misleading) I will definitely try Little Red and depending how that went even the Big Boy.

Also got a D3 (lift kit, sliders, etc) and looking to do the same trip - perhaps we can get someone on-board who knows the area and make a trip??

Not rich enough for the LLAMS - also got the GOE rods and they work just fine for me.

Count me in for a 2014 trip.

Looks like fun, but definitely something to try in old Green one.

The Sunshine Coast Land Rover Owners Club are heading out into the Glass House Mountains this weekend on Sunday the 14th December.

Give them a call and join the club, friendly bunch of Guys.

Steve and I will be organizing a trip also to the area in the coming weeks.

    Excerpt below from the SCLROC.

    Hi All,

This Sunday will hopefully be a day trip to/through the Glasshouse Mountains - weather permitting. This trip will be rated Difficult to Very Difficult with a maximum of 10 vehicles. Please check the vehicle requirements for this trip rating on the Qld 4x4 Assoc. site.

We will be meeting at Daisy's Place the on Steve Irwin Way at 8am for a 8:30 departure. If anyone wants to come along but doesn't want to drive or can't, there should be seats availible.

Due to the weather forecast, this trip may be changed on the day.

    Hope to see you there.

So long as the Disco 3 has body panel protection..should be no problem at all..

Just take it easy on Little Red and take the correct line..Disco 3's have amazing traction control systems..AKA Terrain Response

IF a D22 Nissan Navara on 33's with 2 inch body lift and a front locker can do Little Red in the wet..well you should be fine!
