Yes those tech screws can be a nuisance, have had them in the van tyres, but never in the BFG's

However I want to order some 18"s in the new year, for that extra bit of confidence in remote areas. Just trying to decide on how many.

If you are going to high load rated LT's or muddies,i would order five and maybe take a 19" tyre on rim for emergency, depending what size 18" you are going to run,(i know its not the right thing to do but in emergency would work),or just an 18" carcass.I have run LT's for the last ten years or so,and never changed one, done a heap of long trips on very rough roads in remote areas. But luck takes a part here as well.

You do well on 19",so you will probably never change an LT.
Rally experience probably helps with pressures,etc.....

plus hub adaptor, plus, plus.... it all adds up. Since this was only ever
really a weight saving exercise its starting to seem like a lot of extra effort
to save a couple of kilograms.

So it looks like I'll be going for a 6th
    rim.

    Cheers,
    Jon
I'm fairly sure that if you buy the heavy duty kit, the hub adaptor comes with it, I rang him a few years ago and he wouldn't sell me the adaptor unless I bought the heavy duty R&R, I have the standard R&R beadbreaker.

Here's the the video on the heavy duty R&R with the adaptor for alloy rims, looks easy
