The flat round bit on the left of the steering wheel binnacle, presumably where the electric steering column controls go - is it removable, does it just clip/pop out? If it's just a pop out circle of plastic, is a new one available as a spare part?

Hi Mate,
No it is a moulded piece of plastic with a circle in it. :o
No pop out unfortunately.
To close the loop on this one, I went with LHS of steering column for Llams and headlight binnacle for Tow Pro. Happy with accessibility and visibility for both. Thanks to everyone for input and ideas and particularly to Graeme for answering detailed questions about the Llams dial. It's true that you don't really need to see it, quite intuitive to use almost straight away.
I put my switch here on our D4, I asked Graeme for a longer wire on the switch:BigThumb:

Baz.
Just send me a PM if a longer lead is needed.
Recently completed a Llams install (didn't fit mine) and just wanted to post a couple of photos that may be of some use, particularly if mounting the rotary dial on the steering column shroud.
This one shows the three torx screws on the steering column shroud looking straight up. The 3rd one is not immediately obvious.

When drilling the shroud for the rotary dial, I used the provided washer as a template.
Shown is a drill bit in the centre hole just to hold the washer in place before drilling the two smaller holes.

I think the washer could be used for mounting if the dial was located in
a cigarette plug socket but is not required in the steering column shroud.
Perhaps this is obvious but I hadn't seen it mentioned previously.
Final result looks like this:

Mode switch mounted in webbing piece under the steering column adjuster. Drilled a 7mm hole and pushed switch through.

Happy now that I've actually installed one. Was a bit scared in the early days but didn't need to be. It is as straightforward as many others have said, although a little fiddly to get the loom plugs to release using my soft office-worker hands.
Regards,
Scott
I'm surprised how many people here sacrifice a 12v outlet :o
Mine is mounted in the same position as Scotts photos above.
I find it neat and tidy and easy to operate.
Just on a slight tangent to this, about to install LLAMS and wondering where people positioned/ mounted the LLAMS control module box?
Did you mount it on something or is it sitting in behind the steering column cover panel?
I was thinking of using a cable tie to attach it in the opening behind the cover panel, just to secure it.
Appreciate any input.
Thanks,
David
As per the instructions the box has Velcro attached and is then stuck to the back of the suspension ECU in the vehicle.
The wiring loom is only long enough to allow this location.
