Has anyone tried the General Grabber AT's?

General Tire Australia * The Tires * SUV & 4x4

I'm interested in hearing any feedback on these.

    Cheers,

Do yourself a favor and use the advanced search function, plenty of us have / are using the GG AT's.
Ok for general use but not tough in the sidewall for use on gibber roads or rocky terrain.

Cooper Zeon LTZ seems popular in the UK.

    Hancook ATRs

I love my Hancooks, so far have been - great in the wet, pretty good off road, quiet, cheap $280 per cnr.
I did the Border track recently, just put 4 brand new tyres on for the trip and staked 2 of them at the same time. **** happens, the 4 Amaroks I was with missed the stake prob due to a wider stance. You can see the pic of the one tyres I had to repair to get us out. 7 plugs in that whole, I wasn't expecting this to last too long but gave it a go anyway. I basically did the whole Nth to Sth crossing back to Nhill. I had the TPMS (aftermarket)on so was easy to see if it was maintaining pressure. BTW best money I have spent lately is the Tyredog TPMS, I just use it on trips away and pull it off and stick it in the glovebox when in town. All cordless, 2 min install. It instantly picked up the 2 tyres deflating at sudden rate and alarmed straight away in which I was able to pull up before the tyres totally destroyed themselves.

The BEST thing about what happened was when I went back to Jax to get 2 new shoes the next week, they replaced them for FREE! They have a policy that if anything happens to your tyres in 7 days they will replace them. I was in there on the 7th day.

That is a lot of plugs and a good pic.

Good to hear about the hankooks as that is my next set I reckon, need to get a few more Kim's out of the originals set.

What is the art of putting multiple plugs in, when I was with a guy trying to do this he kept pushing the first one through when putting the second one in?

There was no art whatsoever in this repair, I lost about 4 inside the tyre. I just kept sliding them in. I had the ARB kit, which I think is the best, everyone on that trip came back and purchased one each. I didnt even want to try to repair it as I had said to the guys you are dreaming if you think it will last. I was going to get them to take a spare tyre which I had on the roof to go to town to get replaced. We had the storm of the year there that night, glad I got out, in fact we were back in a cabin in Nhill while the other guys kept travelling, they had a very wet camp that night.
