The one on my D3 copped a bit of a belting, to point I could no longer get a shackle on it. One of the downsides of having a bar is it leaves it a bit exposed. Never worked how to straighten or replace it.
On the D4 though, I haven't even taken the cover off yet, so I don't know if I've even got one.Used the one on the rear a few times though...

I far prefer using the factory points and a front bash plate will protect it. However, to pass scrutineering when I was competing in the D3, I had to add two recovery points, as per the first few photos at:
