    D3 water leak

    Hi guys,

After heavy rain yesterday I have found water dripping from behind my glovebox into the floor. Has anyone had this problem ? It seems funny to happen all of a sudden.

    Cheers

    G'day Lucas,

Had exact same problem a while ago. Drop your glove box down and you will see the access panel to your pollen filter. It unclips on the left (from memory). Simply unclip it and slide out your pollen filter - my bet is that it will be wet. This tells you that the likely culprit is a poor seal from the plastic cowl at the bottom of your windscreen. They can warp over time. Believe it or not, there is nothing between the internal seal of the windscreen cowl and your pollen filter, so when it rain heavily (particularly if driving), the filter gets thoroughly wet and it then drips down behind your glovebox. A replacement cowl is about $130, or you can just get some sealant if you're confident. Hope that helps.

If you do this check and find the pollen filter dry (mine was), check the plastic windscreen trim and make sure it's tight. The lugs can snap off letting water in through the A pillars.

    thanks for the tips fellas

my D4 was getting water in the passenger footwell and checked the pollen filter and was wet also. the cowl was getting warped as suggested.
ordered a replacement cowl and the repair kit lugs for both outer trims - $150 from Land Rover (Hobart).
Installed them over the weekend and put it through a touch free car wash - no more water leaks - very happy
