    Gday All,

Started with 265/70/17 with Kumho KL78s, then went to 245/70/17 with BFG KM2s, will be going back to the 265/70/17s, mainly for a bit more clearence, I went to the 245s to see if the fuel economy improved, but it hasn't so will be going back to the 265s.

I run 245/70/17,which is close to OEM diameter.Fuel economy no different to OEM 18's.

265/70/17 is around 25 to 30mm larger than OEM,depending on what brand tyre you run.

    No issues with rubbing,etc?
    Spare fits in inflated?
Vehicle will still move on bump stops?

I need some new tyres as well, just thinking what to do.

    Plado OEM size is 265/65/17

Some GX models also ran 245/70/17

I got my size wrong, I've edited my previous post, I knew it was either 265/70 or 265/65 I just couldn't remember excactly which one. (I haven't had my D3 long enough to remember the tyre size )

I have 265/65-17 for everyday use and LT245/70-17 for rougher use and winter slops, both being standard Prado/Pajero sizes for their cheaper price and availability anywhere. My spare is LT245/70-17 in case its needed in harsher conditions.

Me too with 265/65/17. The only downside I've found with this size is that there wasn't enough clearance on the front between the inside of the tyre and the steering linkages to fit the cheap Aldi snow chains.

My rims are +40mm offset so more inner clearance than the LR 17x7 but their 7.5" width moves the inside edge back in 6mm so only a net of 7mm more clearance.

No, I put Performance 17" rims on.

By the way Performance Wheel's has closed up shop. Apparently the owner was at retirement age and no-one wanted to take on an alloy wheel manufacturing business in Australia against cheap imports.

Yet another manufacturer bites the dust. You do wonder what the kids will be doing in 20 years. Digging up ore bodies, or tending to the old farts I suppose.
