Thread: Manual Unlock Not Working

The key only works in one direction and is quite stiff to turn (manual says anticlockwise). When you open the car the alarm will probably sound and you need to put the key in the ignition and turn to make it shut up.

My key in the door turns in both directions. Neither which will unlock it.

The lock only operates the lhs door lock and it is a manual lock - no electrics - so if it is turning and not unlocking then it may be faulty. In which case you may need to get into the vehicle in a more brutal manner.

Have you turned the key really, really hard ?

I have a old key that came with the car that I might put in some vice grips tomorrow. I don't want to break my two new keys. In second glass of red. I am walking home tonight. Just glad I didn't lock one of my girls in the car. We would have broken windows. If u can't open it I will cal RACQ tomorrow.

Key turns in clockwise and anti clockwise from 10 to 2. The only way it will move more in a clockwise direction is if I put it a set of vice grips. Glad I found out about this here and not somewhere remote.

I had a simalar issue on my D2.Despite being told that the key lock isnt powered I belive it is.
My battery was flat,to open it I connected 12V to the starter +VE and earthed to chasis.Key then opened manually,infact normality resumed with the plip lock whilst the power was connected.
Unsure if you can get to 12V power on a D3 underneath,especially if its lowered.

I don't believe the LH door lock works as when I bought it the key was held together with sticky tape and the remote was hit and miss. I did try the LH door lock once with no success. My two new keys arrived, which was part of the deal, and I forgot about it. I don't think the battery is flat. I think I have just done a fuse or something. My break in skills will be challenged tomorrow.

When I had the issue on the D2 it was suggested that the D2 went into some sort of shut down to prevent it being stolen.Superlocked or similar,and would have let me in after some time.
Hopefully after a sleep over yours lets you in before you have to get brutal
