Just recently replaced my front wheel bearings, very straight forward as long as you have access to a 32mm socket and large breaker bar. My daughter picked the noise in ours but it was only the passenger side that was bad, but I replaced both, plan on doing the rears in the next month.
There is a you tube video of how to do the front bearings, follow that and you will be fine.
Cheers Ean

front wheel bearing rumble
After driving the car some more, reading all the posts and despite my service bloke saying there was no play in the bearings I was certain it was a bearing rumble.
Over the weekend I replaced both front hubs. My service man was right -there was no play but when I took them off the right side was a bit noisy and the left side sounded like a bucket of bolts.
Two new hubs following the video that Ean put me onto and my beautiful quiet Discovery is back!
FWD motors recommended either original or Timken and that is what I fitted.
Thanks guys for all your help. The lesson is that even if there is no wear, if it sounds like a bearing noise it probably is!
