    Yeah scary thought!

I spoke to the Land Rover dealer they say their standard price on a Disco 3 for timing belt and the rear belt is $1200. That's genuine Land Rover parts and according to them about 5 hours labor.

I recall reading on this forum that timing belts on the SD V6 is best done with a body lift, not too easy I would have thought even though the vehicle is designed to to it, so a job for dealer land or really switched on non-dealer. Can not see all that being done in 5 hours. Coming from a vehicle manufacturer back ground there are some things that are worth the genuine price tag, timing belts would be on my list.
Have I got the body off correct or am I on the wrong track.

Only do the belts with the body off if the body needs to be taken off for other reasons.

2x with Graeme. The rear belt can be done with the body on - its a tight squeeze and your working blind but its doable. In saying that if the body ever has to come of my D3 I'll be doing the rear belt while its off to make things easier for myself

Pacific Land Rover did mine with the body on. They said the oil pump casing was fine. Scary
