SupporterJust found this link on UK site. If you buy from Australia, you don't pay VAT, so that usually covers the cost of freight. Contact Britcar and see what they want for a pump (assuming it is the correct part).

SupporterThis link shows recall on Disco fuel pumps, with VIN numbers
last pump recall issued 2009
Car Recalls : car recall search results - The AA
I checked with WA dealer who sold and serviced my car until 2011.
They tell me that pumps on a recall list (certain VIN numbers range), [B]would have all been replaced as they returned for service.
They also mentioned that they only replaced 3 pumps (mine was not one of them), which suggests that either not many returned for services or that dealer was selective about replacing the "recalled' pumps.
When is a recall not a recall....when it suits them.
Am now looking for a pump also.

SupporterHave found an online site in UK with cheaper fuel pumps. http://www.rjs-land-rover-spares.com/eshop/
Have a price from the seller A$763 for 1 pump (with approx $100 DHL express freight)
A$715 for orders of more than 1 pump, plus freight adjusted.
Items are brand new and OEM.
Pumps not listed on their web sale site, but Email them at ("Adam Pitcher" is contact I have spoken with Email adam@panaf.co.uk )
You will still need to get the 2 fuel pipes LR004714 and LR004715, but these may be cheaper in Australia
and likely new belt, tensioner and pulleys, and filter for new fuel pump install.

I'm finally getting round to fixing this (see posts below).
FYI, Barbagallos, one of the two local LR stealers in Perth, just re-quoted me $3,790 for the job, of which parts were $3118. The fuel pump was $2434 of that. I'm waiting for a delivered quote from a couple of UK sources (thanks Vernon), but I've done some research of my own and discovered that the OEM manufacturer to LR is VDO Siemens. I can source an OEM Siemens pump from United Fuel Injection P/L in Perth (Great Eastern Highway, Redclifffe, just near the airport) for $995. For those of you unlucky enough not to be Sandgropers, they even offer free shipping within Oz.
Parts required are: pump - LR017367 plus: belt - LR 019115 ($297), and the right and left fuel pipes - LR 004715 andLR004714 ($49) respectively - $s per Barbagallos quote.
On the recall topic, I contacted LR Australia and they confirmed that the recall was on the high pressure pump, which is a different part. This is the low pressure one.
Hope that helps. Its still going to be a shed load of cash to fix ...
Update:
I was made redundant on May 28th so paying for this was not an option.
After lots of fault finding (see my other thread) I also suspected the LPFP - air in diesel line and less than 5A draw. The fuse was also melting. It turns out I had a bad contact in the fuse, it wasn't priming upon turning the key but if I gently pulled back on the fuse all was good. It has had a tie wrap pulling the fuse back for some months now and the issue has not returned. Fixed? Maybe!
I also add 300ml of 2 stroke oil to every tank of diesel now.
