    Question Accessory position mode

how do I set the radio to continue without activating the "audio on" switch after the engine is shut-down?
Is there an "Accesory position" mode in the menu?

If the car has been running, and you turn it off, but still want to listen to the radio, you either push the button to turn just the radio on, or push the start button, without your foot on the brake.

Either way, the radio will only stay on until the car decides you have been there long enough...

I have had it vary from 10 mins to an hour. Depends on the state of the battery. Radio is one of the first things to be shut down, if the car detects the battery is running down.

My radio is consistent at about 10 minutes, my battery should always be in a good state of charge, as a do quite a few KMs everyday just going to work.

It's very anoying! But it is a Land Rover afterall

    Yes, very annoying!
My MY15 shuts everything off after 10mins. WTH for, surely the oversized battery will run the damned radio for longer than that!

The entertainment system runs the vehicles second Can Bus system, therefore it uses alot more electriggery as its not just providing music.

MY14 does same, shuts down after 10 minutes even if (with ignition/accessory off) you just push the radio button. There is a thread on here that discusses this and mentions removing one or two relays, but not sure which ones or the full consequence of such. I'll try find it and post a link if I can work out how.

So your "radio is consistent at about 10 minutes" after you have restarted the radio? The question is how do you "restart" without a stop when you cut the engine.

Do a search for this 'D4 getting accessories to stay on?" Post 15 I think talks of the two relays, but I would need more info (possibly from rufusking) as to the full implications. There is a On/Off button on the radio itself so it can be turned on when all else is off.

From what I have read in the past,if you use the entertainment system for any amount of time without the engine running you will get the low battery warning.

    Hi Nicky,
Once it cuts out, I just press the big round knob on the left in the the centre to turn it on and the process starts again, I had a long wait tonight and got 3 x lots of approx 10 minutes, sometimes I get the low battery warning and it won't power up the radio unless I start the car. It's a bit hit and miss how many times I can do it before the low battery lamp comes on, but I have done a down south trip last week, so battery should be well and truly charged.
