    Air buffeting

    Have you noticed an uncomfortable "buffeting". with the windows partially open on opposite sides of the car, as though the air cannot escape.
    Is there an air escape that is closed and can be opened?
    2003 D2a Auto TD5 good Landy gone
    2015 D4 probably the most amazing yet, why get a RR?

    This is a high pressure pulse caused by air inflow increasing the pressure in the cabin. Open diagonally opposed windows, and have the rear open more than the front, this will lower the air pressure and keep the cabin cooler, as well as stop the drumming.

    I haven't had a car that doesn't do it. Try it with the just the rears opened, its enough to make me feel motions sickness. Horrible sensation.

    My VW Golf did it. My wife coined the term "doofa doofing" to describe the sound and sensation. It stuck.
    The D4 is much deeper and with more bass.

    My D3 and D4 never have this problem either - as it the windows are always up! It is more efficient to have A/C on than windows down.

    Same, none of our D1s did it, but the D3 is shocking for it.

    Put it down to the amount of open holes (crappy door and window seals) in the ole girls, proved by the amount of dust (daily commute includes dirt road) that built up in the back of both with the windows up, D3 stays spotless (dust that is, kids another story) windows up or down.
