I've been using Castrol Syntrax 70w90 universal in my D4 for 30k , no problems . You might find the Castrol Syntrax 70w90 long life at a BP garage or get them to order it in . BP deal with most of the Castrol products .

BP own Castrol,

I had the same issue in that I couldn't find anyone stocking the syntrax long life. In the end I just changed to a more readily available off the self oil - penrite pro gear 75w-90

Transmission, in all cases ZF Lifeguard 6.

Differentials: Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 (part #01300, quart bottle); 0.65 quart for the front and 1.6 quarts for the rear

I bought Royal Purple Synchromax and Max Gear 75W90 from GL Lubricants on eBay, at $23/quart. ZF Lifeguard Fluid 6 from Repco at $31/L, using NRMA membership discount.

I've only done 5000km on it - so far so good.
