    Servicing

Can anyone service the Discovery 4 3.0 or should I be looking to drive to Hobart (3 hours away) to get the independent specialist to do the job or try my luck with Land Rover Dealer in Launceston an hour away?

I drive 12 hours each way for a service.

    Surely 3 hours is nothing

I also drive 12 hours (return) for some repair work, to the seaside city of Geraldton on the west coast of WA.

For you, the bonus of going to Hobart is you can enjoy great fresh fish and chips by the seaside, go to MOMA, take a harbour cruise, or a pleasant stroll through the botanic gardens, all while your service is being done!

I was told when I bought my D4 to request a courtesy car when booking as Im a country client and they will have a vehicle for me to use whilst its in getting services done.Tempted to head south, dont need many excuses to visit Albany, basically the same difference in travel
Will return to the seller for the first service, will see in the future.

Wasa Ive only heard good reports about the Whyatts mob. They must be good to get Land Rover factory backing. Then again country service agents are badly needed in WA.2 factory dealerships in Perth,1 country dealership in Albany and one factory backed independant in Geraldton, thats it for WA.

I'm surprised at having two Andrew, given that there's only one in Brisbane. Seems strange in a city of our size to only have one.

But I'm like you, back to where I bought it for an interim service first (on Sunshine Coast) and then we'll see.

As far as WA is concerned I would always go to Albany over Perth given the choice, the 2 Perth dealerships are the same company and seem to be more interested in people that want Ferraris and Maseratis (which they also sell) than anyone wanting or owning a Landrover, you could be ok if you drove a Rangie vogue?

I bought my vehicle from Albany, not by choice.. was the cheapest quote sourced by the broker, and convenient as we are often down at our shack on the South Coast. Great people to deal with and I intend to get warranty servicing done there. Pretty good sales people too.. sold SWMBO a demo VW when we went to pick up the D4! Agree with the comments about the two Perth Dealers... didn't even want to bargain when I first approached them. Very much aligned with the Dalkeith Tractor set.
