The DPF if fitted is located approximately below the front passenger footwell, between the catalytic converter (mounted quite close to the engine) and the main muffler (approximately under the rear passenger footwell).

I use Delo 400 in my Tdi 300 but for the MY11 3.0 Tdv6 no particulate filter, am using Caltex Havoline Energy 5w30 full synthetic to Ford spec WSSM2C913-C/D

So I'm fairly certain I have no DPF so from a big bunch of internet info I have managed to find the following oils I believe to be compatible:

    CASTROL EDGE PROFESSIONAL C1 5W-30
    CALTEX HAVOLINE ENERGY EF 5W-30
    PENRITE ENVIRO+ C-4 SAE 5W-30
SHELL HELIX ULTRA PROFESSIONAL AF-L 5W-30

CASTROL MAGNATEC 5W-30 A5 is also another but I am a little unsure of this one due to a lack of info.

A5/B5 non-DPF oil supposedly has better lubricating qualities for diesel engines than the C1/C4 DPF oils so if the DPF is not fitted then better not to use it. B1 spec, superseded by B5, is for diesel engines whereas C1/C4 is for DPF regardless of the fuel used.

    Hi Damo4runner.

This is link to a previous thread. See SNEIGY's post dated 11 May about VIN indicating whether DPF is installed.

So no DPF and you would say use the CASTROL MAGNATEC 5W-30 A5 is that what I am reading, most of the charts and computers at these places assume it has a DPF. They are right "Oils aint Oils"!!!!!!

Note: corrected spec on the Magnatec.

This is what Valvoline spec for 2.7 D4,looks like same spec as Graeme uses for D4 3.0l,no DPF

    OK just picked up some:

Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF 5W-30:

Is designed to meet the demanding requirements of particular high-performance engines, including Ford and those requiring ACEA A5/B5
Shell and Ford have local relationships in many countries, and Shell is a major supplier to Ford in India and the USA
Passes an extensive range of performance tests to meet engine oil specification WSS-M2C913-C

Specifications: ACEA A5/B5; Ford WSS-M2C913-C; Jaguar Land Rover STJLR.03.5003

30% off so pretty happy, still waiting on a filter to come in so if it is the wrong oil they said feel free to return it before I use it.

The AF-L from what I can work out is the recommendation for the vehicles with the DPF>
