    Help finding wheel nuts

    Hey

I have bought another set of wheels so my camper can have the same wheel and tyre combo so I can have more spare tyres when touring.

Unfortunitly they came with out wheel nuts, something I didnt think was such a bad thing till I realised what a pain in the but they are to find let alone the price.

Does anyone know where to get cheap second hand wheel nut from or id other land rover models suit the discovery / RRS wheel.

    I purchased RRS wheels.

    Thanks Ben

Andrew how many do you want?
I have 2 nearly full sets, so i should be able to cater for both as i assume Ben will only require 10 + maybe 2 or 3.

    Let me know.

    Cheers

    Mine arent urgent.
16 wheelnuts. 2 road wheels plus 2 D2 spare wheel holders on the trailer.
Satisfy Bens needs first and I will buy the rest.
I have D2 alloy wheelnuts,I dont think they will work with D3 or D4 wheels will they????

Have you managed to source hubs for your camper trailer? If so, where from?

Ean Austral just ordered some,if he doesnt see this send him a PM.
VE Commodore have the same PCD and 14mm studs. You may have to supply your own 14mm wheelstuds. The trick is to get Landcruiser 100 series studs. When I got mine they were extremely expensive ex toyota.Got them from Don Kyatt Spares, about $2.50ea from memory.

    Hey

No unfortunately due to the small pcd of the land rover wheels they don't make a bearing small enough to fit inside the hub on my drum braked trailer. If I had the smaller 10 inch brakes from alko they would fit but I got the big ones.

As holden have the same pcd many companies have the a hub to suit unless you want braked.

    (Can of worms opening)

So I'm looking at wheel adapters to go from the currend hilux or 136.9 x 6 i think pcd to the land rover 120 x 5. they are also needed due to the offset of the rover. I know they may be illegal in aus but imy not bothered as most things that make sense seem to be. I should be able to get a custom one piece set for $200.

But still in the planing stage at the moment so I'll c how it all plans out.

Look into getting the RRS rim centre bored on a lathe.
I did my D2 rims with a die grinder with an alloy burl.It was OK,messy.I couldnt find a big enough lathe to hold them at the time.
If I get D4 rims I will get them lathed,to use them as a swap on the vehicle you would need spacer rings, the lathe shop would be able to make them.
The other option is sell the RRS rims then buy D3 steel wheels, they like the D2 steel wheel will fit decent hubs with no hub diameter issues.
As long as the circumference of the tyre used matches the tow vehicle you could get away with the steel rims as spares for the rear axle(smalles discs)
    Food for thought.
