Hi, BMKal, I'm due for my first pad change (44k). Which dealer was it? I'm using Southerns. I might ask them to use those pads. Got no complaints about the OEM but always happy to save $ when the product is as good or better.

As Tombie said, no more brake dust at all since fitting the Akebono pads.
    Cheers .........

They sound like a good alternative to OEMs. Only issue is they don't do the front pads for my 2010 TDV6 3.0L. When pedders in Brookvale told me this, I thought it odd so emailed Akebono and they confirmed. ;-(

Just hopped onto the Akebono site and noticed no rear pads for MY12 SDV6 SE, either. The part number for the rears is EUR1099, btw.

Interestingly - Bendix (and a few others list the same pad!!!!) and the vehicle uses the same caliper...

Quite likely that the pad will move across accordingly..

For the Akebono give these guys a call: Ausbrake 1/23-25 Bunney Road, Oakleigh South VIC 3167 1300 787 986 dan@ausbrake.com.au

Guys just a sense check, these pads and rotors are as good as OEM? no squeaking etc? are factory slotted or non slotted rotors.

thanks again, appreciate the helpful info and cost saving!!

I would expect most of the factory rotors to be non slotted

Very very good. The slotted has nice bite. And with the akebono pads no squeaking or dust.

    Factory are not slotted.

Wouldn't you know it, I have just been told I need to get my front pads and rotors changed.

So, was there a conclusion on whether the Akebono's are available for a MY10 D4 TDV6 SE 3.0 and has anyone fitted them?

And I am assuming that the parts for rotors Tombie posted were for a 2.7L, so not appropriate for the 3.0L's?

Sorry for the questions, I am not used to sourcing parts myself, so don't want to order the wrong thing and sell it to one of you guys instead.
