Not so much a LR issue as a poor design by the parts supplier.
Dont forget, manufacturers specify a piece of equipment and then a manufacturer makes it happen...

I think you will find the starter is fused, but its a 500amp fuse so not really sure what / if that will be any help.


I am sure its most likely the norm in most modern cars , but for the sake of $150 and about 6 hrs of my time , fusing the Alternator so if it does short I should get the battery light come on and may be the difference between being stuck in a bad situation and being able to stop and investigate before hand.


Seems to have been enough D3s had the same issue so I think its worth the effort.
