    Called Global Opening.
Good on a hot day, when approaching vehicle. Unlock & hold to vent all the hot air from the vehicle.

    Cheers
So its plausible if one was to hold the unlock accidently long enough waiting for the blink of the lights that the windows drop. One then presses the lock button and gets the lights flashing not realising its locked with the windows open???? Does the horn now sound to tell you your trying to lock it with the windows open???.

Not having a crack at you Diana,I have lots of issues with remote controls for locking. My D4,my work ute and Debs Territory. The lock/unlock buttons are all in different positions on each one.

...or along the same vein as what Andrew was saying, perhaps some time after the car has been locked, the unlock button has been inadvertently (long) pressed unlocking the car and activating the global open. Since the doors have not been opened with in the 2 minute time frame, the car has then re-locked itself and left the windows open.

Try keeping the keys on a table, out of bags and pockets etc. to see if that helps.
    Cheers,

This morning I opened the tailgate and the doors. When I got in, threw the key on the passenger's seat and before I started the engine I could hear relays clicking and then the windows all opened but stopped as I pressed the start button.

Has to be a car issue.

Or fob issue, the unlock button maybe faulty, have you tried another fob, with your regular fob disabled/out of range.

The other fob has been out of use since the 21st, but given I'm now parking the car down the side driveway the old fob is about 10metres away through 2 walls.

Perhaps I need to put it in a properly grounded Farraday cage!

I would take the battery out of the fob, then you know for sure it is not the issue.

Wiring fault in the vehicle would be my guess.

Its started again. Two out of the last three lock occasions I've come back to the car with windows open and the doors locked.

Yesterday, the first time it's happened when not at work or at home. Not using the suspect remote.

Very concerned for the security of my car and the stuff inside!

Is there a way of removing the open windows command from the remote functions?

Are you still in warranty Diana, might be worth telling either them or the insurence company about this, just so if someone does steel it or the contents of the car, you're covered.

I'm pretty sure you need diagnostics to do this, but one touch down windows usually disables when the battery is disconnected, maybe globle windows are as well, we can enable and disable most of this with our Faultmate.

You definately need it looked at either way.

    Hi Baz

JRA Warranty ended in January but I do have the LR Extended Warranty by Allianz. Have sent a message to Land Rover Customer Care, see what they say.

Am a little concerned, it is going in for a service tomorrow at GCA in St Peters, hope this doesn't affect the warranty?

Not much help to you, but we've have the rear windows opening while driving.
Turns out that Charlie, our ****poo dog, has worked out that putting his paw on the button gives him access to the outside world.
