Question D3 "Chime" After Loud Noise

Fellow D3 (and maybe D4 & RSS) owners. This may sound like an odd question but has anyone experienced their Disco sounding the warning chime when there has been a loud noise nearby? It's happened to me three times in the last few weeks. The first two times were when I was waiting at lights next to trucks. Both times, I heard the sound of compressed air being released and my chime went off. Initially I thought my air suspension had let go but there was no dash message and everything appeared to be functioning normally. Today (again at lights) a group of bikies were next to me and when the lights changed, the roar of their engines appeared to set off my chime again! Don't know what to make of this. Ideas anyone?

I'll check it out Tombie. Do you know if this can be disabled? The first two times were single "chimes", when the bikies roared passed me however, the chimes went on for about 3 seconds but the seatbelt light did not come up on the dash. Might have to borrow my neighbours motorbike and do some further investigation!

Are you sure it is the noise or is that just coincidental. There is a well known D3 random bong which is probably related to the passenger seat sensor but also sometimes appears to be related to touching the brake or both and sometimes it just seems totally random.

I had my sensor replaced twice it still does it ocassionally. You get used to it.

My random chimes were the passenger seat as I caught the seatbelt light flashing on briefly a couple of times when I was quick enough.

I'm not sure if it's coincidental or not. I had another single gong driving to work this morning and coincidentally (or not) a V8 was passing me up the hill under power. Maybe my girl's just a bit sensitive to that sort of thing!! If it keeps happening I might drive round with the passenger seatbelt buckled up for a while to see if it stops.

Have you tried disabling the seat belt not fastened warning by inserting and removing the seatbelt quickly 7 times (or was it 11)?

I don't know about these beasts but truck brakes etc used to set off the parking sensors on our Volvo XC70... we fixed it by selling the car ☺

I can get my D3 to "chime" by tapping the passenger seat without the seat belt warning light coming on. Holding my hand on the seat will make the warning light come up. Would appear to be a very sensitive switch.
