I use a CTEK battery charger through the white socket using an adapter that plugs into the socket and has an Anderson plug to connect to the charger.

Andrew, this will be fine, you won't need to change anything. The Mitch Hitch main bush & bolt are difficult to manoeuvre past the plugs but it is manageable with both plugs loosened but not removed. It is only difficult because the wiring looms have very little slack, meaning you can't just pull the loosened plug forwards right out of the way.

We have a seperate Anderson plug to the back, from the Auxillary battery, and also the white plug to an Anderson plug back to the Anderson plug on the trailer to charge the camper battery, had it this way since we have had the car.

Big socket to Anderson plug is setup like an adaptor, we have it this way because the trailer wiring was a tad short and wouldn't reach, so instead of re-wiring the trailer, just made an adaptor, been working fine for 3yrs now.

    Hi Scott,

So wires in this loom do not enter the body until the other side of the plug under the LHR tail light?

    Cheers

That's right John. Strydes would be able to better respond in detail but the plug on the right of the photo is external and the next loom goes from that plug through the grommet behind the LHR tail light into the LHR storage compartment (internal), where there is another plug.

Thanks Scott; that proves I have been looking in the wrong place (and probing the wrong blue with pink trace wire).

I still have the white plug; plus the full Traxide setup.

I can't easily access the main battery for C-tek control charging ... where can one buy the adapter for the white plug, to allow main battery charging?

I only would like to do it because many say a proper smart charge improves battery life ...

I got my white plug from ebay. Mine will be able to connect the Anderson plug from the aux battery to the main battery via the white socket when I fit longer wires - yesterday's wires are too short!

Disco3 is a good source for the plug

Also explains other uses for the plug.

And here's a good thread regarding charging with ctek:
