Ok thanks for that info, I have a Mitch hitch installed so cover is removed permanently. I will get rid of the white plug and fit the Anderson unit there and all done

Just a thought ...... The cover can be refitted even with Mitch Hitch. You cut it in half and shape it around the hitch. I have the cover on unless towing and then only remove the black plug side (my Anderson comes out that side).

    Looks neat and flush.

Edit: Hitch looks a bit rough now though Anderson plug to white trailer socket.

Ok but don't have the cover, wasn't there when I got the car.
My "Mitch hitch" looks a bit different.... think mine might be one of the replica's that's being talked about.

There are five wires connected into the white plug, should I just cut and blank them, want to make room for a permanent Anderson plug arrangement so white plug needs to go.

You could or you could remove the loom like strydes did in this thread. That way you could put it back if ever required

As the white socket is also a good charging point, would it be possible to remove the round socket and terminate the two (charge) wires into a different socket? For example I intend to fit a Traxide DBS next and was considering removing this socket and fitting two Anderson plugs, one for trailer load and the other (existing two wires) for charging.

Pretty sure you can buy anderson plug mounts,at the moment my Traxide anderson is just tucked in behind the cover.
It has been posted that its best to charge thru the white plug from a charger or solar. In this case the main battery will get charged and the aux.If the traxide has disconected from the main battery, only the aux battery gets charged when charging thru the anderson connection.

So, If I charge through the white socket (or use those two wires in a different socket i.e. Anderson) and the Traxide has disconnected from the main battery, would I still be charging the main battery?
Still allowing load to be taken from the Aux via the 2nd (Traxide) Anderson plug.

My thinking is to have load delivered via the Traxide 50A plug and charge via the ex white socket.

So how do I charge the Aux, obviously not while under load?

    Might send Tim a PM.
    Cheers, Mungus.

The pos in the white plug will charge the main battery,in charging the main battery the traxide will see this and also charge the aux.
If you are charging thru the traxide anderson and its self disconnected(ie after 72 hours of no use) it wont charge the main. Its simply a matter of starting the motor/turning it off and the traxide opens for bussiness and charges both batteries, despite the power coming from the anderson
I intend keeping my anderson seperate for what its disigned for,hi amp power.I also intend getting a plug to suit the white connection to put low amp charge into the main battery.I will need to look into a different way I guess when a Mitch Hitch is purchased.

When you say use the white plug and/or Anderson plug for charging are you talking about using a solar panel ? Or am I missing something?

    Cheers
