Someone recently posted hearing a change in the sequence of sounds during normal shutdown that preceded an issue with his turbo actuator (I think).

As you say it's getting used to what 'normal' is. At this stage no sound seems to happen regularly/consistently. I think part of it may be that the compressor probably hasn't had a lot of use in the last couple of years.

Hope so. Taking it in to MVR in the morning. I don't know how my day will pan out but are you busy around lunchtime? Was thinking about dropping in to say G'day.

Oh, and the plastic piece that links the radiator and engine - dodged a real bullet there...

Somewhat bizarrely, when I was getting a wheel alignment some months ago, the dealer gave me a new air compressor as I had "missed a campaign ". I still cannot find any such campaign, and my mechanic has never heard of it, but I am not complaining!

I just have this annoying steering knock at low speeds now.
I had the EAS air compressor on my MY05 HSE that I bought at the beginning of this year replaced free of charge by LR. I knew about it when I registered my VIN on TOPIX. When I picked the car up after the work the service rep was just as mystified as to why it was free!! Just goes to show the lengths LR go with their after market support. I would have thought 10 years was well and truely past any statute of limitation, especially for a voluntary non-safety related campaign. Saved me (and you) a nice wad of money!

Good to hear that you had a win on that one.

Nothing showed for up me when I logged on to TOPIX though.

I logged into TOPIX last year and didn't see anything... As you say, we both saved a bit Oztourer. I am certainly not complaining.

Pulled the compressor cover off to find that it is an AMK compressor so was happy with that.
