I just installed LLAMS today. Brought an unused brand new unit from gumtree. Haven't installed the rotary switch yet as the panel that sits behind the handbrake switch has had a switch installed into it. Bloody hole in it is way to big for the llams rotary switch.

It should be ok up there on the rhs somewhere, its slightly bigger than a redarc dial. The RRS only has the one 12v socket in the console so not really an option.

Andrew and Shane, I would suggest these locations for your Llams dial and button if other locations are taken/unavailable. They work well.

Something to consider, it only gets used infrequently for special modes and you don't want to be accidentally pressing it, which may happen if it's close to other light switches or adjacent to the Llams rotary dial. Better location is under the steering column. Just food for thought.

The wire length on the button switch is only 50 cm with the idea that the switch will be mounted in the webbing below the steering column.

Some people mount the rotary switch on the right side of the steering column surround when the spot on the left side is already in use.

Graeme, will suss out your suggestions tomorrow, LHS of steering already has redarc brake dial and like the idea of using the RHS with press button on the webbing underneath. What's involved in removing the steering column surround, if its to messy I will put the dial near the light switch as per Landyandy,s setup.

IIRC there are 3 screws, with the 3rd in the centre towards the rear that's a little hard to spot.

LLAMS and Traxide dual battery system both installed and working a treat, got the Engel in the back already with a slab in it.
Decided to keep the existing power socket on the LHS as is and added an Engel plug instead, installed the socket that came with the system on the RHS so have plenty of power options (3) to choose from in the rear of the car.

Next move is to remove the white tailer plug and mount the Anderson plug on a bracket in that space.

Brake sensor light came on today so a full brake pad change on the weekend.

Thanks to Graeme & Tim for there instantaneous assistance on the phone to sort out a couple of minor glitches, where else do you get that sort of customer service ?????

    Cheers

For goodness sake get some convoluted tube around that cable or a grommet where it goes through the the panel...

Well done! Any trouble getting the panels and rubbers up to get the wiring across the back? How did you get in to the LHS rear without an access door like in the D4s? How long do reckon the whole traxide install took you?
