What plug are you referring to? If you mean the black round 7 pin, it's a standard large 7 pin available from Repco or Supercheap Auto etc. The White 7 pin can be purchased direct from an LR spares dealer. I paid $18 for mine.

    PLUG FOR DISCO 3

Google "linear led discovery". Linear Electronic make them. You choose which plug ends you want.

I have a D3 Linear Electronics version for my D4.
Our D4s will operate the LED lights on a trailer, the 20W load is still needed for the vehicle to recognise the trailer is there(gearbox/terrain response/reverse sensors)

Apparently previous owner of my vehicle (never met him) used to tow his boat which had LED,s on the trailer so hoping he has already done something to cater for this, I suppose I will find out when I hook it up to something as I don't know how to check otherwise.

    Cheers

Does it need a 20 watt load on all circuits going to the trailer or is it just indicators or brakes or taillights. When you close a door with a trailer on is the brake lights flashing on have something to do with trailer detection?

Depends if he fitted an in-car module or a trailer drawbar module, which is the type being discussed here (eg Linear Electronics). I don't know where the in-car modules are typically fitted.

Internal units are typically PS Rear side panel...

Should be a switch to turn on and off
