I went a Safety Dave duel camera with screen ... I wish they had sold the "extra" when I bought it - that is a large connection which is heavily built. It makes it easy to attach and detach. The standard connections are hopelessly finicky and take heaps of time to correctly install. They aren't really rustproof IMO.
The real problem with cables, is that eventually the cable will get wrecked unless its inside the chassis of the trailer, or in a fully protected situation such as inside a pipe/tube/conduit. If I did it again I'be prefer a Wi Fi setup - but I thought they would not give a good picture reliably.
While my 2015 I think (build is september 2014) allows the rear parking camera from the Disco to be displayed while driving (via the "Extra menu and you then select cameras), I would then loose GPS, sound etc. IMO its best to just have a separate display. A Wi Fi one would even fit inside the instrument panel, but not a 5.5 inch one.
Also with reversing, many units now have a microphone and a speaker - I doubt that would be easy to setup into the Disco's display.
The KISS principle would also be against attempting using the Disco screen ...
