There's a short sharp hiss of air comes from the front left over bumps, or if I just grab the guard and give it a lift. Even up on offroad height it doesn't hiss unless provoked. The car's not dropping overnight and looking at the nanocom things seem normal. The occasional "suspension fault" is coming up which doesn't affect driving and disappears on restart.

Am I likely to be up for a new bag (read $1300 strut) or is there anything more simple (cheaper) I could hope for? It's not like there's many moving parts to repair... If it is the bag, does it make the car dangerous to drive? I guess if I imagined hard enough it is a bit soft in that corner (original strut with 213000kms on it while other 3 have been replaced).

    Thanks in advance
$1300 should get you 2 new complete air struts delivered within 3 business days direct from the UK from Duckworths.

Are they original struts? If so at coming up to 7 years old the shocks are probably nearly worn out anyway.

Guessing you've done the spray bottle check of the air lines to check nothing's being pinched...

Thanks, yeah, I can't see any leaks... I'll have to check Duckworths again but being a TDV8 with dynamic I think the struts are more expensive...

Duckworths quoted £480 plus postage which is still pretty good but because of time restraints I went local OEM for around $1300.
The car's riding better than ever. Always surprises me how new struts are so much more "supple" than old ones.

    I’ve got a small leak

Noticed one corner (lhf) dropped overnight. I was planning on giving the air dryer an overhaul and the front valve block anyway as the whole front was slowly dropping overnight but now the lhf has noticeably dropped. Small leak from the airbag only noticeable with soapy water in extended height. I’ll order some new fronts soon when dollars allow, can get them for £105 plus shipping and maybe gst for Dunlop’s, worth giving them a try. Thoughts on running this one for a short time longer? Personally I think it’ll be ok as it’s only a small leak and still drives well. 85E0407A-86CC-41E9-9A14-E4C599192C9B.jpg

That is an interesting leak, sounds like it is under a fold in the bag. Don't worry the car will warn you if dangerous, with a red instead of yellow fault light and a "Do not exceed 30mph (50 km)" or similar IIRC in the dash display.
