    D3 rear door lock price

    Hi all

I bought my car with a dodgy rear drivers side door lock - it wont lock using the key fob - have to do it manually from inside. Planning to replace it using a helpful guide from the uk forums:

Rear Door Latch Replacement - DISCO3.CO.UK Knowledge Base

Just wondering what people have paid for the part? And if anyone has any helpful tips? Best price i can find a new one is $226 delivered. Happy to use a second hand one but cheapest i can find is $165 + delivery which isnt worth it.

    Cheers

    Dan

    Hi Graeme

Yeah i checked with a couple. They were typically over ?100 plus shipping. One was ?80 but shipping was ?60! Seemed a bit crazy. A pound buys over $2AUD so it doesnt work out great at the moment.

Happy to buy overseas, but if the prices are close i generally go local to support them and for piece of mind.

    Cheers

I bought genuine for the front drivers door because I wanted ASAP to finally be able to lock the vehicle!

Price was over $300 delivered so your $226 delivered for a rear door sounds quite reasonable to me.

I was originally quoted $380 to change the lock by the indie who did my vehicle inspection. I wish i had of taken that now!

Thanks for the input. I think I'll grab it tomorrow. Wish me luck fitting it!

    Hi Discotastic,
Maybe try TRS in Adelaide, I find them reasonable.

Thumbs up D3 rear door lock

Have you tried TRS? They have a great selection of spares from wrecked Landies.

I got my front passenger side from aliexpress for about $120, if you search by your part number (LR011302) a couple come up for a similar price.

I haven't fitted mine yet as the original one responded to a clean up, but the new one looks to be the same as the original?

    Shipping was about 3 weeks.

Hi guys. I checked out TRS website. Didn't find anything about a new lock, and couldnt find anything about a used one.

I ended up buying the genuine for $226. Hopefully it will last at least another 7 years!

    Cheers

    Dan
