Thank you, sound advice, and the same as the best the Service Centre could offer too, not having heard of anything similar. They didn't suggest hard resetting or anything. It does concern me that there might be a fueling problem given it's lack of mid-range punch, but some hard data will help.
Yes these computers aren't known for their amazing accuracy but they usually have a consistent bias (ie not accurate but reasonably precise?).
DPF failing?

Hmmm
The penny just dropped:cool::cool::cool::cool:
You dont normally reset your trip meter when you re-fuel do you???
When they plug their diagnostic gear in it re-sets the fuel computer.
When you re-set with every tank,the economy starts off abissmal,like you posted,as it gets ks under its belt the numbers drop,just like you are reporting.;););););););)
Next,the adaptive learning of the gearbox also is reset when they plug gear in,normality will return to your driving style.This is your doughy mid range;););););)
Next re-fuel re-set the trip meter and watch the tumbling fuel numbers;);););) Your driveability should be returning as its adapting to how its driven.
I got given a D4 with identical specs as mine as a courtesy car,it went like a rocket thru the gears.When I returned it at the end of the day it was driving no different than mine;););););)
I hope Im correct.
GOODLUCK
