I didnt get one.I asked for one at delivery, they said they were $275.00.I could have one if I didnt want the matts they put in worth $400.Told them the matts were much more useful knowing I had 3 different hitches at home and intend getting a mitch hitch later.

Did the same (moved from Pajero Exceed to the Disco). Woul have got the Disco earlier, but problems with the D3 gave me pause.

Personally went with the HSE, as it had everything I wanted, added full rails, keyless entry and Tech Pack (wasn't included in HSE at the time). Also ended up with Windsor Leather due to a build mistake (wasn't requested, and didn't show on Topix). Added steel sliders myself (shipped from UK), and Gordon's rods and underbody plates, as well as the Traxide system.

Have been happy with the performance upgrade and the comfort over the Paj.

Thanks for the advice so far.

I'm coming from a well kitted Pajero, with bar, winch, rear diff lock, snorkel, spots, lift, EBS (need electric brakes above 750k and my trailer has them), UHF and a bunch of other stuff. The Pajero is comfy, but my needs have changed a bit and I don't really do the hard stuff that I used to. Kids are older now, so it's more camping, touring, exploring and photography.

I'm looking at low km (demo most likely) SE or HSE then with leather, tech pack and I'll see what else I can get thrown in.

I'll never own a car again without tinting, so regardless of whether it comes with privacy glass I'll be doing that the day after I pick it up with some good UV stuff.

Rear air con - good tip, I think I want that
Mats - I'll get them if I can, not essential
Roof rails - I use these often, so I'll research what's available
Side steps - are a must for me for a few reasons, I'll see if it comes with them and replace them later on
Keyless entry - I'd really like that but not a show stopper
eDiff - I'd like it but not a show stopper
    Memory seats - ditto

    So it's looking HSE then.

As humble as the Pajero is, it comes with a lot of features and I'm not really willing to go backwards on most of them. Electric heated seats, separate rear air, touch screen sat nav, sunroof, rear diff, folding mirrors... and a lot more is what I already have. Was surprised to see quite a few "standard" things as options on an $80k S to be honest.

    Very excited !!

EDIT: Just read the specifications (thanks for the link) this is going to add up..... LOL

IDEALLY: HSE with Cold Climate (P3) and Vision (P15) packs, ediff, tyre pressure monitors, adaptive cruise, wade sensing?

MIGHT HAVE TO "SETTLE" FOR: SE with Tech pack

Side steps - are a must for me for a few reasons, I'll see if it comes with them and replace them later on ==> without knowing why you need side steps, don't forget that the air suspension has an "access height" setting which may serve your needs. Sidesteps have tendency to fold up preventing doors from being opened if damaged due to off roading. rocksliders with standoff bars can serve nicely as sidesteps while providing good protection.
Keyless entry - I'd really like that but not a show stopper ==> this is actually is a really good option.

Hmmm, currently holding a pretty good deal on an optioned up S with tech pack, leather, 7 seats, xenon lights and meridian sound. That's all my hot points.

I have a price for a nice HSE, but it is about $14k more which I don't think I want to pay for the small additional extras.

Still looking, but not sure I can go past the optioned up TDV6 to be honest. Will still be a gorgeous car and gives me cash for after market stuff.

Seems like I will have to get it in January to take advantage of the drive away discounts. What a shame.

Smocky - I think you're on the money with the tdv6 mate. I'm on the market for a disco myself, although unlikely to put down the hard earned till EOFY. After recently taking the td and sd for test drives I'd say the tdv6 has plenty enough power. Can't see the point of spending more money when you can have a well optioned tdv6 for $15k less! The "main event" promo that LR has on at the moment runs till the end of February I'm pretty sure and includes dealer delivery and all on roads - saves a few bob!

    Hello mate,

Yes, from humble beginnings. The Pajero has been a fantastic car, but with the kids growing up, it's time for me to have MY car. Someone is going to get a great deal with the Paj. Still purrs like a kitten and has a lot of extras.

It's looking at the moment like I am going to go the whole way and just get a HSE. Some good deals at the moment. I'm not going to overload this one with extras I'll rarely if ever use. Can't wait to get it up to the high country and do some photography of the huts up there !!!

    Hope you are well.

It's a bit confusing mate as you can get a fairly similar car from starting with the TDV6, SE OR HSE. The differences then become subtle.

There are some cars in stock which obviously you get a better deal on, hence why I am weighing up all 3 options. At $15k difference, I'll go TDV6 for sure. It's looking possible though that I may just get a deal too good to refuse on a HSE.

Yeh, I found out today that it runs until end Feb, but all the good optioned cars will go first. I don't want to wait too long or I will be picking through what's left (not that 'what's left' is a bad thing when talking about a LR4 !!)

Happy to help out with some of my research when I'm done if you like. I love a spreadsheet !!! LOL

Good man! Would be most interested to see that when you're done.
