Thanks and please excuse my ignorance but are you referring to additional probes etc that have to be added that the OBD tool can then read or factory installed sensors that the OBD tool picks up via the diagnostic port if the sensors are actually available on the vehicle? I mean specifically in relation to O2, catalyst, etc that you've mentioned rather than the simple temp probes and speed etc that you're already reading. I'm guessing the tool can read all these things in theory but some of them are vehicle dependent.

    Scott,
The tool will scan all available Factory sensors that the car has fitted through the ECU output. The other probes/couplings I was referring to may or may not be fitted to our Discoveries (EGT thermocouple for example) and this is what I'll have to confirm. It does make sense that an EGT probe would be fitted by the Factory to work with the emission control and O2 sensors to be EU3 compliant (Now updated to EU4 with current models).

I fitted an EGT on my old D2 and thought it was 1 of the most beneficial gauges followed by an oil pressure gauge particularly if you are towing.

I use an iOBD2 APP as well as a DTC Search APP as they are sufficient for what I need. I did use the 'Torque Pro' APP but found it not as user friendly and it wouldn't always pair with the OBD port dongle.

Here's the eBay link as well for the OBD2......

The sites linked don't show Land Rover in their lists of compatible cars. I presume that the LR is OBDII and so is suitable. ???

It should work on the OBD11 protocol compatible systems in the D4,be aware Landrover has a second system running that is its own protocol so the generic scanner wont or cant read those signals.

I ended up getting one of these.

iCarsoft LRII OBD2 Reset Diagnostic Scan Tool For Land Rover & Jaguar

So far so good. There were a few codes stored in the memory, and from my research and reading leads me to a disconnected battery at some stage (lots of "lost communications" and a "Battery disconnect"). I have cleared them all with no repeats. I will check them again in a couple of days to see if any have returned.

    Catcam,
I purchased the xTool OBD2 adapter you linked, for the life of me I can't find auto temperature.

    Can you enlighten please?

BTW I did get a major multiple fault happen with this adapter fitted - first the doors all unlocked, then the hazard lights came on followed by limited gear selection, then suspension fault - lowering, park brake fault and more.
Turned off the reset but then the engine wouldn't start!
Got out my Faultmate and found multiple errors throughout all modules!
Cleared them all and then the engine started and all systems OK, btw I unplugged that xTool adapter to clear the faults and left it out!
