Had my 2.7 done recently, pulls much better and a lot less turbo lag.Havent checked the fuel economy yet.EGR's blanked as well.
Done by MR auto, they use the Bruce Davis software upgrade.

How much did they charge you Scarry? Good to know that they can do it too

i knew someone would ask,it was also in for a service so it was combined.Maybe 1K for the software upgrade and a bit more for the EGR disable and blank off plates fitted? What they did say is they plate the EGR's so they know they are shut for sure.Others just disable them, but occasionally they are not shut completely. You don't have to plate them if you don't want.
The funny thing is i haven't told SWMBO,she drives the thing all the time.
I asked her the other day if the car was OK after the service, and her answer was,it definitely has some go.
I think power and torque is slightly above the low output late model 3.0l.
Definitely a big improvement on what it was.

SupporterI overcame all those issues mentioned by getting a remap done on my MY2011 RRS 3.0lt STDV6, by Superchips.
ECU Remap | Chipping | Engine Tune | Peter James Tuning | Superchips.
This does require the ECU to be removed from the car so the parameters can be adjusted.
241 bhp to 274 bhp (204 kW)
600 Nm to 697 Nm
The remap can be programmed to suit your requirements.
Mine were: 75% city, 15%towing, 10% 4WDriving
Result after 15 months driving has been:
1. Improved towing with 2 tonne van. (reduced fuel consumption 2-3 lt per 100km as you don't need to push the throttle as much)
2. Improved throttle response in town..no turbo lag (consumption down 2 lt per 100km if driven conservatively, goes up when pushed)
3. Much improved torque for heavy 4WDriving
I could not be happier.

Hi peterall,
I am considering getting a remap with Blufin for my 2016 Discovery 4 DTV6 and read above with interest, as Superchips is on my list for consideration. Can I ask where you got your remap done, as I understand Peter James is NZ based and not sure they have a dealer here in Melbourne where I live.
Any further updates on your remap would be interesting. Thanks
You know you don't have to go down the road of blanking plates.....I sent my ECU away to be remapped and also have the EGR permanently closed software fix and can't be more pleased with both the performance and piece of mind that at approx $4K per side, I don't have to ever have the EGR valves replaced (It's a big, big job!)
Correct i always advise a blank off when remapping too as you can't physically check the valves are not leaking.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Checked the fuel economy on mine last trip to the farm and back, around 1400K.
We were not towing,as usual, but had an extra person and a bit more gear, almost identical to the runs before the map.
So i would have to say there is no real improvement at all,but it certainly goes better with a lot less lag.
The other difference this time was the ambient temp, getting up around 43 to 45 every day.
Diesels, like most engines run better when ambient temps are cooler,so winter weather maybe slightly better, will have to wait and see.
