    MY14 Merridian juke box

I have the upgraded Meridian stereo in my MY14 D4.
I was led to believe I can save CDs onto the vehicles hard drive.
Was I led astray??? Cant seen to find anything in settings on the unit to enable this.

I can save 10 disks in my my15 hse - it's not intuitive - Google or read the manual (I can't remember how to do it as I fumble around to find the right spot each time)

I've done it on my MY12 HSE, takes a while to load onto the hard. Decided it's not worth the effort and have ripped the CDs to MP3 plus a lot more to a usb stick and play them form there.

I have a USB with ****loads of music on it.
The D4 doesnt recoknise all the music on the USB,must depend on recording type.
I have a few favorite CDs that are on the USB that wont play in the D4,they will play in my Grader or boat.I will load these onto the hard drive

I never knew you could load music into the D4 HDD! Do you have a link to the Youtube video Andrew?

    It's not too hard.

You press "My Music' on the screen, then the plus sign that appears. This gives you a menu where you select "Stored Music" ??? which brings up the HDD list. There you will see an "Upload" button. It's greyed out unless you have a cd in the cd player. So you need to insert the cd you want to upload first then select my music etc to enable the "Upload" button. Press the "Upload" button and then select which space you want it to go. You can either use a new space or overwrite an existing one. You have only 10 choices.

It does take a while to load so I did this when I was driving somewhere.

I have done this with the MY13 I have.

Loaded a stack of favourite cd's onto the hard-drive - cause I can.

If the car cd player will play the cd, then it will play it from the hard drive.

Oh, and did you know, you can even watch a movie??? Not while driving, of course.

The LR system has trouble reading mp3's on a USB stick if they are coded as VBR (variable bit rate). CBR (constant bit rate) is the preferred format.

There are several open-source programs that will convert them if you need to.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
