I'm firmly in the air camp for towing. We previously had a D2, no ACE, and tow a camper and horse float. Especially with the float we found the addition of poly bags helped enormously with towing, but of course if we didn't let them down the ride was a bit harsh without the trailer. The D3 is a revelation - no need to adjust anything, just hook up and go. I can't imagine anything with coil springs being close to as good from that regard.......
