    L/100 Kim Reset

Had a strange event occur yesterday. Filled up with fuel on way to Adelaide and the l/100klm on all trip meters reset, and only this reading - klm and a avg speed still ok. I expect this on Auto Trip, but not on A and B.

    Any ideas?

You may have bumped the end of the indicator stalk, as you were turning, just long enough to reset it.

I have done this, and took me a while to work it out.

Yes, I could understand that if it was just the B Trip, but both had reset and only the l/100 klm.

Now I read this post I dimly recall once my fuel average readout reset itself randomly. I put it down to a computer fart. Never happened again.

It is doubtful a knock of the stalk would reset anything (unless it triggered a computer fart). To reset the trip meter you do need to hold the button for quite some time.

Yes, quite possibly, however having worked most of my days in IT, I do not like 'computer farts' as they are usually caused by humans or are the prelude to a more adverse malfunction.

    Just my 2c worth.

Im having issues with my grader. At the end of the previous week it split a steel coolant hose.Anybody who has had a D2 will tell you how good OAT is at getting into things, old Mrs Marsh wouldnt come close
Anyhow we fix it,all this week Im having big issues with "airflow restrictions" "airflow restriction service now"(this de-rates the engine),"air pressure sensor over voltage" and "air intake over voltage".New air filters didnt fix the issue.Westrac tell me its a damaged wiring loom and a new one is required.Warranty job we hope,if its chaffed its warranty,if its a stick thats damaged it we cover it

Your mention of D2 and airflow faults is reminiscent of the harness across the front of the TD5 engine whereby the outer sheath deteriorates allowing the wire insulation to rub eventually causing a fuse to blow that then knocks out several sensors etc.

How about checking your battery terminals are still tight? Their design allows them to become lose if over tightened. To fix, you have to take them off spread the split where the bolt goes through - so it puts more pressure on the battery post clamp section.

    Cheers,
