Yep agreed. These photos show the awning virtually no higher than the platform.

Cheers guys I will have to check it out and see if I can flip the Awning over so it's hanging off the bottom of the Platform, rather than off the top of it.

Afraid not. There's no track grooves on the underside of the platform bars. But you can flip the bracket as shown above. This combined with access height should see you ok in the garage.

You mustn't be a rough bush mechanic like me Scott.

I'd be drilling straight through the platform bars and running longer bolts, and simply bolt the mounting brackets to the bottom of the bars.

Fortunately with the FrontRunner rack, don't need to. Just slide in a couple of M8 bolts to the underside tracks, and then attach brackets.
    Cheers .........

We went for a picnic yesterday at Churchman Brook Dam, here in Perth WA, so thought I'd throw up some pics of the ARB Awning opened out and then packed back up.

Tip: If you are buying an Awning buy the biggest one you can fit onto your Roof Rack..... I could only get a 2mtr wide one, as my Roof Rack Platform is only 1.5mtrs long. (ARB recommends you don't go past 700mm longer than your Roof Racks/Platform/Roof Top Tray)

No, you don't "need" to buy genuine LR Roof Rack Rails!!!!........ that's quite some solar array you've got there Andrew. Is it mounted like a boat loader (hinged)?

Yep, in fact it doubles as a boat loader, it will fold all the way down on top of your boat sitting right way up in the ground, then you just tie the boat on and it will then swing back over till it sits flat on top with the boat upside down.
