Clicking rattling sound in Passenger B Pillar

    Hi All,

Any recent owners of new Disco 4's should be aware that if you have a clicking or rattling sound from your Passenger B Pillar that its actually a manufacturing fault that needs to be fixed. (It just seems to be right at the ear level and when the Leader of the Opposition is on board the annoying rattling is somewhat amplified )

Seemingly getting to the bottom of it this morning, there was a batch of several hundred Disco 4's suffering that problem that requires a body shop fix to a spot weld due to a manufacturing issue. It seems the problem has only just recognized by Land Rover AU with the factory and an agreed fix completed. There is also a backlog of them according to the dealer. Both the demonstrator we drove and our new one (almost straight after delivery) had the issue. Its a two-three day fix under warranty of course.

Mine is due for a fix next week, will keep everyone posted

Cool, mines a Dec 15 build too but don't have or haven't heard that noise yet. I have an annoying rattle in the front windscreen speaker grille somewhere though lol
I guess if there is a recall I will soon get notified anyway.

Sorry! I posted the incorrect details, here goes again!

Situation: A customer may express a concern that there is a rattle noise emanating from the B-pillar area.

    VIN: 731301 Onwards
    2015 - Onwards

As this is a service action, repairs are only carried out if a customer expresses concern.

It's the B-Pillar (where the seat belt attaches)

Not every vehicle is affected, I've only seen a couple, many vehicles have had no issues at all.

Ironically the loan car D4 that I have been given, while my defender is
Being hopefully repaired, has this fault.

Very noticeable in a quiet Car.
