    Thanks so much!
Can you hold on till Tuesday?
I have so much stuff going on at the moment & can't contact anybody until Tuesday.
Yes I know the Hawkins truck comes in with the Retail Stores stuff. This would certainly get me out of a bind, I will PM you tomorrow or Tuesday.
    Thanks again

No worries , his truck leaves up here either Wednesday or Thursday so work out what you need to and let me know and I will get them on their way.

I know what its like to spend time away from home, you don't need to be worried about if you are going it back or not because of rims and tyres. if I can help let me know.

    Cheers Ean

Thanks Andrew, but really its a no brainer for me. The thing that made this country great is the help a mate attitude ( sadly I think this is on the decline ), and in this case we have someone working remote to support his family and he has a problem, I have the means to help ( the rims and tyres ) so am more than happy to do so. I am asking a friend to use his truck to help me and on it goes.

What's the worse that can happen ? I never see my rims and tyres again, That's a chance I am prepared to take, plus there cant be that many D3 in Doomadgee and the next road train that goes thru might be driven by me and I have been known to gently caress things with the last trailer

I would like to give all an update on my drama but mainly I would like to thank:
Ean for his very kind offer which would have put him to quite a bit of trouble
And PKD4 who also made me an offer which was very nice & helpful.

This site is full of top blokes/folks & it is difficult to express enough thanks to people who offer help to someone they don't even know.
    So, once again THANK-YOU!

    Now for the update.
I have decided to buy the 18" D3 rims with 80% tyres off Gumtree.
I have managed to get a set of 2nd hand wheel nuts from Townsville for $160 + a bit of freight (would you believe you will be up for over $300 for a new set of 20?!)
The reason I decided to go this way was that
I really don't trust 19" tyres on the roads out here & I only have 4 rims.
To buy 4 X 19" tyres was not cheap anyway & there is nowhere near the range of 18's for future tyre purchases.
I was worried that if things went in anyway wrong I would not get Eans wheels & tyres back to him on time.
I can sell my 19" rims & maybe get a bit of my money back.
And once I have the D3 18's on I have a spare that matches, no more cracked wheels & no more worries re wheels/tyres for a year or so.

So, if everything works out I will have they wheels/tyres & nuts next Friday & one of my staff & I will fit the same on Saturday.

BTW anybody want 5 X 17" wheels with 2 good & 2 3/4 worn tyres? You can hardly notice the cracks!

Thanks to you all for the offers, help & suggestions.

My new/second hand tyres & wheels arrived in Doomadgee yesterday along with the second hand wheel nuts.

The tyres are Cooper ATR & seem to have about 75% tread so should do for awhile.

At least now I can drive home with some confidence, got to get them on the car yet, without being worried the whole drive a wheel is going to fall apart.

Looking forward to going home at the end of next week, 8 weeks @ 7 days a week @ 11 hours a day is taking it's toll. I did have ANZAC Day off though.

    Hi Jonesfam,
Glad to hear you got things sorted. I realise it's a bit late now but even with a crack in them the BB6's are ok to drive on. I tested a cracked one, put it on the right rear and drove from the Vic high country to Perth and it didn't crack and more. I get it's not ideal but in a pinch maybe handy to know for others. I may also get those other non cracked BB6 wheels off you, I'm running out of wheels LOL. OH and for what it's worth you get $1/kg as scrap ally for those cracked wheels or about $200 to get repaired.
I'll message you and let you know when I'm coming through Doomagee and if you still have those wheels, I'll drop in for a look, it'll be a few months yet.
    regards
    Brian

    Thanks NomadicD3
That's good to know but I'm still relieved to have the LR wheels on it.
Drove home Thursday & although the dirt section was in pretty good nick it was nice not to worry. I did doge the any big rocks though, I look like I have plenty of tyre with the 18"s but they do look a lot less than 17"s.
I will leave the tyres & wheels in Doomadgee then, I was thinking of bringing them home, 2 wheels have GT Radial A/T's, these aren't cracked & the tyres don't even have 2000k on them.
Look forward to you calling in, give us a heads up so I don't have a break at the time.
    Jonesfam
BTW it is very nice to be home even though I've been on the mower all day.
