    Stop talking spare wheel carriers!!!☺
I had to drop the spare this week to change over tyres and I only JUST managed to get winch down and up without it fully jamming😠😠😠. The damn thing has only been used twice😠😠. I would rather go to a rear wheel carrier than risk having the winch totally jam when needed most.

I don't mind the carriers themselves but having one will be a pain as when the D4 is in my garage, I'll have to open the main roller door to get room to swing the carrier open to access the D4 cargo area😕😕.

I have the Outback Accessories wheel carrier and long range fuel tank on mine. Very happy with both. Still have the original bumper and have never had any issues at all with the reversing sensors.

Yes - there is an additional tail light required, and the one supplied / fitted with the wheel carrier is a pretty horrible looking square thing with conventional light globes. No big deal though - I found a decent looking round LED combination tail light from an Australian supplier, which is in keeping with the Discovery's tail light style, and simply replaced the unit myself.

With the number of people I have come across who have had issues with the original spare wheel winch - there was no way that I was going to leave this set-up in my vehicle. Plus, the extra ~ 100 litres of fuel I'm carrying now makes the touring range of the vehicle a lot more realistic.
    Cheers .........

How much further than the upper tailgate would it extend out?
