We had a filter company rep come to a 4wd club meeting of ours, he recommended to stick with the factory schedule.
The reason being is that filters do not work to their optimum first off, they require the proper build up for them to work their best. Change too often and they don't clean as designed and your also wasting money & resources.
Having heard that the D3 was 12,000k, same 2.7 engine in the D4 was changed to 24,000k. If I had a D4 I'd be sticking with the 12,000k!
