My former 2010 D4's CCF EUCD setting section as produced by my Faultmate had trailer assist shown as undefined but it was certainly active the time I got a little carried away with a heavily loaded box trailer on a sharpish gravel corner.
Have read a few posts within this section re 'Trailer Stability Assist', a safety feature fitted to all D4s (and similar vehicles) designed to control trailer sway automatically when needed without driver intervention.
Was browsing through setting in the CCF of my D4 the other day. In the Body Control Module under 'Trailer Stability Assistance' there are 3 setting - 'fitted', 'not fitted' and 'undefined'. Mine was set to 'not fitted' which I'm guessing would not allow this feature to work when required.
I changed the setting to 'fitted' and reflashed the CCF. I have no idea how long Trailer Stability Assist has been disabled or who did it, the dealer by mistake or was like it from the factory. I'm even a bit surprised it can be disabled when the vehicle has all required hardware for this feature to function as standard equipment.
Anyway, might be worth others to check if they can. I was certainly under the assumption trailer wobble would have corrected while towing and it looks like it may not have been.

Have a look at this very interesting website that BlackBoxSolutions have set up.
http://vbf2.blackbox-solutions.com/F...Genesis-Server
You put in a VIN and it gives full details of the as-built CCF.
In addition, it provides stats of all vehicles that have had the VIN interrogated to date (over 124,000 so far).
And it can do a comparison between two VINs. For example I have compared mine to Dad's and identified the settings that are different for Xenon headlights (there is two).
For the Trailer Stability Assist function, 100% of the 124,000 vehicles interrogated to date have it set to "undefined".
You will also see that many settings are actually set to "undefined", for example HDC.
There is a demo account to use for login:
User Name: demo
Password: genesisdemo
Then select Demo > enter VIN > Full CCF Edit
(Obviously you are not actually editing just viewing)
I think it's a brilliant site and a credit to BBS.

Could undefined relate to it being inactive,ie no trailer detected????

Perhaps. But there are a number of posts on the D4 electric trailer brake thread saying the tow stability feature works whether the trailer is detected or not.
Edit: To clarify further, changing a setting in the CCF requires reflashing the CCF. Something I think would not be activated by plugging a trailer in or not. Reflashing requires a few ignition on and off cycles to perform. So I not believe what you suggest could explain it.

I think the ecu can detect a trailer thru the torque sensor on the gearbox.I recently shifted a heavy trailer with stuffed lights so I didnt dare plug it in,the gearbox certainly behaved like it was in sport rather than drive, normality returned on the next drive without it.
When I picked my 6 GOE wheels/tyres up I took our little garden trailer to the city, has LED lights and I have a LED pulse box so the ecu would know it was there.Whilst empty, the gearbox was normal, with the 6 wheels and tyres in the trailer the shift was more like sport, despite being in drive. Also the fuel economy for the 400km trip was unchanged from normal

Mine behaves similarly. I have LED lights on the trailer, and have a load resistor wired into both of the indicator circuits. Towing the trailer empty, I see no real difference in the vehicle's performance, but when I had it loaded with almost 2 tonne of firewood the other day, there was a very noticeable difference in the gear changes etc.
Having two chainsaws now makes getting a decent load of firewood a much quicker exercise. I still have the old Stihl and use this for the smaller stuff, but I bought a new Husky Rancher 460 a couple of weeks ago for the bigger stuff - it flies through it.
Now that the young bloke has had a Rhino liner fitted in the back of his Amarok, will be worthwhile travelling a little further and bring back a decent load between the two of us ..................
Cheers .........
