Yes very much so Andrew but I dont believe my alternator if faulty. I will be load testing the battery next.
I can only wonder if the batteries being low whilst we were camping has something to do with it.
I will keep trying .
Cheers Ean

Hi Ean, I recently had a lot of faults coming up which lowered my vehicle also. My battery was showing 13.8-13.9 volts at idle thought a tad low installed a new alternator now at idle the battery shows 14.2-14.3 The faults went away and vehicle hasnt had a problem since.
Cheers
Gday Tinman,
My battery voltages are the same at idle from the old Alternator to the new Alternator .
As I say we did manage to run the aux battery low whilst we were away , but the start battery was kept at 12v by the traxide system and the voltages came up very quickly once the car was started.
I will see what the load test say's but only purchased the battery in Feb , but that said I have seen batteries fail that were newer than mine.
Cheers Ean
My car lit up last night on the way home with HDC Failure / Transmission Fault / Suspension Lowering. A semi sleepless night ensued.
The Suspension Lowering part is a real concern if you were at the Back of Bourke!!
Thanks to Ean and many posts on this subject leading to a common cause(s) I have had the battery on charge all day and all seems good. Fingers crossed.
I left the car undriven from Boxing Day till the 10th and most likely Shopping Trolley behaviour after that is most likely culprit.
Battery was new September 2015.
All brake bulbs ok and brake switch was preventatively changed about 40,000km ago. I have the old one in the glove box.
It's baaaaaaack!
After a night on charge it lit up again today and lowered suspension.
Battery was replaced Sep 2015 so hoping that is not the issue.
Will probably replace the rear bulbs and brake switch again for good (cheap) measure.
My real sense is that the alternator is on the fritz. Would be about time.
My question is if the cars are so voltage dependant then when running (with a healthy alternator) the system has 14V going into it so how does a flat battery trigger the problems once the car has started.
This would seem to lend weight to my alternator being the problem?
Have a good look at the battery terminals.
Land Rover excel in making battery terminals that cant be tightened properly.

Yep made super careful they were tapped down and on tight.
Battery tested ok.
Had the fault 3 times today. Cleared on restart each time. Each time fault appears seems to relate to a dab on the brake.
Bought and changed a new brake switch ($30 at Ford) and two new brake globes. Brake switch was only 3 years old and spotless inside. One of the globes looked pretty sick.
Took it for a test run and no faults but time will tell.........
One of the W4 fellows posted the other day his cruise stopped working in his D3.There was a faulty brake light.Replaced it with a quality globe, brake light worked again, still no cruise.Bought a genuine globe and normality resumed.
I hope my D4 doesn't get that picky!!!!!
