    very true! but my current hitachi has lasted 9 years and 205k km. Im swaying to buying a new dunlop compressor and then keeping my current one as spare and rebuild it.

    Supposedly you can get AMK compressors for $800 but cant find them anywhere, and they run on the old software ok.

    My advice having removed my own is it is not a job I would want to repeat in a hurry.

    Is that an AMK or Hitachi?
    I can now remove and install my AMK compressor in about 5 minutes each direction - but I expect that once the new compressor goes in and I have my new inlet filter setup I should not have to go near the compressor for a very long time.

    Definitely fiddly getting to the top bolt and getting hoses to release.

    Access and also tools. I was pretty impressed as it was the first time I had used a universal joint and both extensions. You have to have the car above you so either a pit or hoist is needed. Slotting the top mount is sage advice I did not follow.
