On the plus side you can claim the repair cost on insurance if need be - keeps your new car looking good at minimal cost. Unlike me I cant claim an auto trans failure on insurance so I have to keep my older car on the road at a higher repair cost............

Interesting how many Land Rover owners get better customer service from "country" dealers.


About 4 months after I bought my D4 I went into the service division of ULR, where I bought my vehicle, asking for advice on better A/T tyres and the paddle shift operation, and I received the " we are totally uninterested " response from a young guy. I think in hindsight he just didn't know his LR product or tyres. Thus I have not returned to the dealership for service and use another LR dealership closer by.

I'm a country resident,my dealer is one of the 2 in Perth.

A little ding like that wouldn't have bothered us Deafener owners. We shrug them off as evidence of our hairy chest toughness amongst the wimps and their hair dressers vehicles....

Marcus i rode my DR650RS up from Perth to Coral Bay, then from Coral bay to ecmouth via the ningaloo reef road and after crossing yardie creek up to the bottom of my fuel tank and seat had a well deserved rest in tge carpark... the biggest mistake that day was pushing on to Exmouth at dusk through the Cape Range Nat Pk rd. I was down to 50kmh dodging roos and one hand onthe brske lever for km after km. My cousin was riding with me on his XR600 and we were both lucky not to have been t boned by some of those crazy roos. Won't forget tgat night for a while!!!

The road was littered with carcases Justin,there has been late rains up there and plenty of roadside grass.Yardie Creek was impassable,way too deep,tide was flowing in well.

We did a similar ride between Coonabarabran and Gunnedah starting at dusk, me, GPZ1100, Johnno a GPZ900. After a few miles, he says to me,,, "Stuff sitting on 60Klms,, if I'm going to hit one, I wanna HIT one". They were everywhere

Paddle shift they should have advised on, however, they won't advise on tyres - the LR stance on tyres is as provided.

Not to mention - what would they know from a 'company' perspective? For tyre advice a tyre specialist is the go.
