With the engine running or just the ignition on?
There's several options depending on this choice.

I can't remember, I'm going to have a play with both options now. Cheers.

2010 RRS fitted new steering wheel with paddles - need to activate

I recently changed the steering wheel in my 2010 Sport to one with paddles and am now trying to activate. I went to a LR dealer last week, but after two hours they said they did not have the software capable of activating them. I have a nanocom for my D2a, but have not upgraded to the Sport, and not sure going to at this point.

I am in Melbourne, if someone has a nanocom able to active them or I have to buy an additional VIN for a GAP ID tool, happy to do that, the dealer was obviously going to charge, and happy to share that if anyone can offer to sort me out.

    Cheers,

    Matt.

I have a Nanocom, but to activate them you'd need to buy a licence for your VIN anyway. I think all that would be required would be to change the appropriate setting in the CCF. I think the Nanocom licence would be about $150, so would be better to upgrade your GAP.

Does Nanocom do the custom firmware required?

I thought it was restricted to GAP who rewrote the transmission firmware.

Enabling in CCF is secondary to this upgrade.

Dunno. Probably not. Apart from modifying the CCF, I think the only other thing you can do is download and upgrade to the latest firmware for the various components that can be flashed.

    Paddle Shist activation

    Thank you all,

Yes I think you are all correct, thinking about it and the communication I had with Blackbox, the nanocom will activate the CCF, but as Tombie suggests, the Gap tool needed to write the firmware.

Yes I would be keen to pay for the additional license fee on the GAP tool if that is at all possible.

The upgrade for the nanocom for the RRS was about AUD 380, as needed a new lead as well as unlocking a RRS. All in Euros which not favourable to us.

    Thank you Gents,

    Matt.

I'm happy to do it but you want to be sure that its possible first and whats involved, an email to GAP should confirm this.
