Yes... agree... however on base line systems the ONLY way it will speak is if the phone activates the stereo as a Phone Call.
A function not in the Apple Mapping App
If the OP has BT audio then turning the settings of Google Maps (original question) to BT only and not BT as Phone Call should work.
Thanks Tombie, I am trying to get the audio directions to play through a radio program.
Look at the shot of "Maps" (the native Apple app) and you will see the little blue speaker at the bottom right, I cannot get this page.

I enquired to the Naviplus site about the installation and maps for a D4. I was also interested in putting in POI's with a comma delimited file. Here is the reply.
TheGPS product we provide is an OEM platform with iGO Primo mapping, thusinstallation is a plug and play setup.
Howeverit does require opening the dash, as it is a hardware installation. Voiceactivate isn't supported.
We do provide installation instructions, and if youare happened to be in Melb, we can provide installation also. For the customersin WA, we do have someone who we can recommend for fitment.
It does come with an SD Card that contains the map of entireAustralia. You can update it by yourself via connecting the SD card tothe PC Software from the map provider.
Not sure what sort of maps you wish to add-on, but if that'sregarding an off-road map, you are better off with getting either an OziExploreror HEMA Map card and swap it over when needed.
Lastly, for the POI, it does have its own databasethroughout Australia, yet it's in the form of a search engine based on keywordsand distance. Unfortunately does not accept POI contents from 3rd parties.
