Yeah this is where I've mounted my ARB compressor, in my disco 3. I took the foam out of the hitch receiver and bolted a bracket to it to mount the compressor to. Also mounted my led module to the other side of compressor bracket. It took awhile to make it all fit but turned out very well. I just wired it to the traxide system. With a bit of a squeeze can also fit the air hose. I'll try and dig up some photos and post them.Quote:

Be interesting to see some photos. I've just trial fitted my ARB compressor in this location and the space doesn't seem deep enough. I have rear air which probably doesn't help, but it's the thick steel plate behind where the foam sits which restricts fitment.
I'll will be interested to see some pics. I too also have rear A/C which may reduce room. I assume this is the smaller ARB compressor.
Hi Garfield, also check that they have not run any of the cables to the rear via the chassis rail.
It is a very simple job to get the cabling from the engine bay to the rear bumper via the chassis rail and in most vehicles, this is fine.
It is not in a D3 or D4 because if they need to work on the motor or to access the turbos, they drop a few bolts and lift the body off the chassis and any cabling is simply ripped out.

Yep, they ran mine along the chassis. I must have been either a lazy sparky or D.I.Y job. Will have to rewire that some day.
Yeah I don't have rear A/C so have the room, it's the small ARB compressor (CKMA 12). The compressors are great as you can change their configuration to suit your chosen location. It took a few trials and errors to get the right configuration. I then took the thick steel plate under the foam out, it's what I mounted the compressor to. It's held in with 2 torque screws under the carpet, with a little work it comes out, then I drilled 4 mounting holes and put the plate back into the car. (I tried to mount the compressor to the plate first then mount the lot to the car but there wasn't enough room!!!) Then mounted the compressor. It's pretty tight fit and very fidgety but with a little patience it all fits!:) Anyway here some photos.(sorry not the clearest photos)Quote:
