    D3 bonnet guard compatible with D4 - yes or no?

    I notice in the sticky thread covering items which are compatible between the D3 and D4, WBowner posted that the D3 bonnet guard was compatible with the D4.

    I'd like to get a bonnet guard for my D4 but I've talked to two dealers now and they both claim that the D3 one won't fit a D4. I've even corresponded with ERG in Brisbane. They made the D3 bonnet guard and they are fairly sure it will fit a D4. They did not make one specifically for a D4.

    Before I go ahead and order one of these things, has anybody actually fitted one to a D4?

    Thanks Tombie. I cant imagine why neither dealer didnt want to sell me one. Makes you wonder how good is their advice on other matters. Thanks again.

    Gypse Pete, I fitted a bonnet protector to my 2016 D4 yesterday myself - they fit perfectly. I too was told by the ULR that the D3 bonnet protector did not fit a D4.
    Tombie let me know some time ago they did - so I went back to the dealer and told them they were talking rubbish and insisted they honour my $100 gift voucher for my D4 bonnet protector. Looks and works great

    Thanks garfield. I've emailed ERG in Brisbane asking for the part number of the smoked (rather than clear) version. Then I'll have a stern talk to my dealer.

    Gypsy Pete, this is a photo of the genuine LR bonnet protectors - which as Landy Andy points out - only come in clear.


    Hey BM Kal, can I ask where did you get your copy after market smoked bonnet guard ? I searched google high and try and couldn't find one.
