    Phone contacts

I'm not sure if I have a phone or a car problem but some of my phone contacts don't show up in the phonebook on the car. I have deleted the pairing of the phone and re-paired it but that didn't fix it. I have phonebook set to Auto upload but that doesn't solve it. My last thought is to delete the contacts on the car and then reload them from scratch but I don't know how to do that. Any ideas?

I think you can store contacts in the phone sim card memory and in the phone memory itself. That is, some contacts are 'here', some are 'there'.

Maybe that's why you see some and but not others, your car is only expecting to find them in one place only. Just my guess and I could be way off - phones are not my thing.

I too think it is a SIM vs Phone problem, on my phone, a Nokia Lumia windows phone, all of my contacts are available, but when someone calls me some show up as the name of the person calling and some just as the number, even though they are saved as a contact.

I have not really gone into it far enough to say for sure, but it seems that all the really old contacts just come up as a number and newer ones show the name.
I suspect if I deleted all my contacts and re-entered them then the names would show on the center screen and not just the number.... But I haven't tried that yet

On my 2014 RRS it would not read contacts off the sim. I shifted them to the cloud, google, and now full availability

I had a similar problem with my 2013 D4. The car ONLY reads from the phone NOT the SIM. I transferred all numbers to the phone memory and problem gone. Annoying at first but a simple fix.

Just to close of this thread with the result. It was because I had contacts allocated to various accounts ie device, google and exchange. Once I had exported all contacts on the phone to a file and then imported them all back to the "device" the car found them. Perhaps this is an upgrade LR need to do to accept contacts on your phone from various sources.

Thanks for those who pointed me in the right direction.

Mine reads from the cloud ok, google. Nothing at all from the SIM. I don't have any contacts stored in the phone memory.
